Zach Wilson went from the no. 2 pick with the keys to the New York Jets franchise to the spoiled whiny inactive backup QB who complains when his breastmilk isn’t warm enough for him. All thanks to Mike White.

Here’s what Mike White was able to do against the Chicago Bears defense:
- 22-for-28 (78%)
- 315 yards
- 3 touchdowns
- 0 interceptions
- 149.3 passer rating
Truly night and day performance from Zach Wilson putting up just 7 yards against the Patriots last week. This Jets offense looked electric with Mike White behind center. It’s impossible to not recognize that the biggest chasm between these two quarterbacks is their ability to read and react to what the defense is doing.
Mike White’s average throw time was 2.38 seconds on Sunday. Zach Wilson’s average throw time is 3.09 seconds. That’s a millennium time difference in pocket time.
Zach Wilson simply cannot process NFL defenses fast enough to go through all of his progressions and make a throw, on time, to an open receiver while Mike White completed passes to 10 different receivers—including Elijah Moore who was shit on for demanding a trade request but hopefully the world sees now what he’s capable of when there’s a QB out there willing to throw to his side of the field.
I should probably mention that the Bears traded away Robert Quinn and Roquon Smith last month and entered Sunday’s game already down two starters in their secondary before All-Pro safety, Eddie Jackson, left with a foot injury.
BUT, great quarterbacks pick apart weak defenses. Is there anyone who truly believes Zach Wilson would’ve taken advantage of this Bears team? Or would he have thrown screen passes into the concession stands and then shrug in the post-game press conference as if he is confused as to why any reporter is asking about his performance?
Mike White brings something that Zach Wilson completely lacks: likability. It’s so weird for an NFL franchise to try and build a football team around a young well-off Mormon boy who thinks he’s better than everyone he’s in a room with and tries to bang his friends’ moms.
It’s clear the Jets rally behind Mike White. Zach Wilson comes off as the type of guy who would complain about the rap music in the locker room being too loud.
Zach’s time with the Jets is over. Even if Mike White suffers an injury, it’s safe to say that Joe Flacco will be playing while Wilson stands for 4 hours in the heart of a freezing cold New York winter. I’m sure he’ll enjoy the weather in Carolina next year though.
Long Live White Mike.
