Josh Donaldson Continues To Be a Shithead

It’s the MLB playoffs. 162 games later. This is what you work so hard for. The chance to win a championship. To justify all the hard work and sacrifice. To solidify your legacy so that people remember you when you die and you can feel like you made some sort of impact on this dumb planet.

Or, if you’re Josh Donaldson, it is your chance to embarrass yourself and remind everyone you’re an asshole.

Josh Donaldson was under the impression he smoked a ball thrown by Guardians pitcher, Cal Quantrill and proceeded to trot around the bases only to have the ball slam off the wall and catch him stuck between first and second base.

Normally, I have no problem with guys taking their time around the bases after smashing one out of the park but it’s typically important to like, be sure it’s a homer before you leisurely make your way home.

It’s the playoffs. I don’t care if you hustle to first on an obvious ground ball out in the middle of August. It’s a long season. But this is literally what you play for. This is the time to put 100% effort into everything you do and Donaldson is celebrating a homer that would’ve narrowly made it over the wall even if it counted. Not some bomb into the upper deck. Nope, he almost snuck one over the wall and he’s moonwalking down the first baseline.

It doesn’t help that Donaldson was alienated from the team earlier this season after being a weirdo against the Chicago White Sox. He called Tim Anderson ‘Jackie Robinson’ which, is not Tim Anderson’s name. No one on the Yankees supported his corny racism. When no one likes you, you might want to like, not get thrown out in the ALCS doing dumb shit.

Being a Yankees fan is tough right now. Aaron Judge had a historical season but could easily end up wearing a San Francisco Giants jersey next year. I want this team to win the World Series but that means Aroldis Chapman and Josh Donaldson get rings too.

Praying Josh Donaldson just gets a few hits, makes a few plays and doesn’t call a brown player any slurs.
