Joel Embiid just won the scoring title. He’s most likely going to be the runner-up for the 2022 MVP award. He has solidified himself as one of the best big men in NBA history. But unfortunately, he plays for the Philadelphia 76ers which means he’ll never win a championship.
The Sixers will face the Toronto Raptors in the first round of the playoffs and their best on-ball defender, Matisse Thybulle, won’t be eligible to play in games 3 or 4 because he isn’t fully vaccinated.
Thybulle: “This was a decision i made a long time ago…I was raised in a holistic household, anti vax is not a term that was ever used…we grew up with Chinese medicine and naturopathic doctors.” Says he has had to reconsider and look at situation differently

Matisse Thybulle says he took the first shot but didn’t take the second one because he believed his background in natural medicine could do the rest of the work. I don’t want to shit on his upbringing or call him an idiot or whatever Stephen A. Smith is yelling about right now.
But it’s impossible to not scratch your head at people who are into ‘holistic’ yet still see regular doctors and get regular medicine.
If you’re a minority in this country, it’s quite easy to understand distrusting the American government and their shitty healthcare system. But we’ve had these Covid vaccines for almost 3 years now. Nothing has happened to the millions of people who have taken it. We are not exploding or dying or being controlled by the devil. Any fears about the vaccine should have been eased by April 2022.
Thybulle deserves to be shit on because he missed the free throws in the Eastern Conference Semifinals that pretty much cost the Sixers the game and led to the end of the Ben Simmons era.
But let’s move on to the other asshole Embiid is surrounded by: Ben Simmons, who ended last year’s playoffs with the worst free throw percentage in NBA playoff history. His inability to shoot free throws ruined his entire offensive game as he was afraid to take it to the basket and get fouled.
Then Simmons refused to come back to the team this year thus leaving the Sixers with a massive All-Star hole in their lineup leading to Embiid having to answer for Simmons’s absence every night in post-game interviews.
You know who should’ve stepped up with Simmons boxing kangaroos at home? The highest-paid player on the team. Tobias Harris averages 17 of the most invisible points. You literally forget he’s on the court for long stretches of the game. Just a reminder the Sixers chose to keep Harris over bringing back Jimmy Butler who went to the NBA Finals while these Sixers have not.
Embiid’s backup?
This is just appalling effort by DeAndre Jordan for the entire possession pic.twitter.com/vmm8rpmnAs

DeAndre Jordan was cut by the Los Angeles Lakers and the Brooklyn Nets. Two teams that desperately need size and they cut a 7-footer. Philly signed one of the worst players in the NBA to back up one of the best.
Yet, head coach Doc Rivers still allows him to get meaningful minutes. Rivers also has this strange reputation for being good with the players despite a history of his teams collapsing and hating each others.
The Blake Griffin/Chris Paul LA Clippers hated each other and blew 3-1 leads annually. The Kawhi Leonard/Paul George LA Clippers hated each other and blew a 3-1 lead as well. Who the fuck thought it made sense to bring him in to build a strong relationship with Embiid and Ben Simmons?
A terrible front office made those decisions. A front office that had to fire their faux-team president because a blogger found all his burner accounts and his abnormally large shirt collars. They replaced that weirdo with Daryl Morey who has some intense James Harden fetish causing him to trade all of the team’s depth for a player who clearly hasn’t recovered from a hamstring injury and looks like it would take him 20 minutes to sprint from one end of the court to the other.
Joel Embiid will never find peace. He lost to a Kawhi Leonard miraculous buzzer-beater that was out of his control. He lost to an average Atlanta Hawks team because Ben Simmons was afraid to dunk on Trae Young.
Perhaps James Harden will rewrite all of his previous postseason wrongs and remind everyone why he’s one of the greatest scorers in NBA history. Perhaps the Sixers lose to the Raptors and Harden is recorded dancing with Drake like, 15 minutes after the game ends.
Free Joel.
