Micah Parsons has made 3 All-Pro teams (First Team All-Pro 2021. 2022, Second Team All-Pro 2023).
He’s a 4-time All-Star.
The 2021 Defensive Rookie of the Year.
He’s finished in the Top 3 in Defensive Player of the Year voting 3 of his 4 first NFL seasons.
Parsons missed 4 games last season with a high ankle sprain and still led the Dallas Cowboys with 12 sacks (more sacks than the 2nd and 3rd sack leaders on the team combined).
He led the team in QB hits and tackles for a loss.
Micah Parsons is ready to be paid like the superstar he is.
Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys are not interested in doing that.
The relationship between Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys has deteriorated to the point where the star pass rusher is considering drastic measures, which could include a trade request or even a declaration that he is severing his relationship with the team, according to a league source familiar with the situation. The two sides remain far apart heading into the second week of training camp and are not currently negotiating.
Among the key issues: Parsons spoke directly with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones over multiple days in the spring. The team believed those conversations were negotiations and that it had a deal, multiple league sources said. But Parsons believed the talks were just conversations and wanted his agent to handle the negotiations. When Parsons’ agent attempted to start negotiations, the Cowboys declined to engage with him and told the pass rusher that they believed they already had a deal. (The Athletic)
It sounds like known ally, Jerry Jones, attempted to charm Micah Parsons into taking less money in a one-on-one convo in his office and was shocked that Micah Parsons wouldn’t sign any paperwork without his representation in the room with him.
Personally, I would sign my 26-year-old superstars, especially the ones singlehandedly carrying the wack ass defense I put around him.
I will never understand the purpose of drafting top talent, watching them exceed on the field expectations and then refusing to reward them with the salary you witnessed them earn.
But this is the Dallas Cowboys, an organization run by a narcissist addicted to reading his own name.
Last year, they waited to sign Dak Prescott right before Week 1 so their team would dominate the headlines heading into the first week of NFL games.
I would assume Jerry Jones is doing the same thing here with Micah Parsons.
This is theatre for the gym attendants, bartenders, security guards, retirees and potheads who still watch ESPN all day long. AKA my readers.
Micah Parsons is still practicing with the team and even he seems to know what’s going on.
But I would love for Jerry Jones to eat shit on this.
If you’re reading this Micah, demand a trade.
Just do it.
It’s 2025.
You don’t need to be on the Cowboys to be an NFL star.
Plus, and I was saving this for my bold predictions, but I think Dallas is finishing last in the NFC East. They have the worst defense in the division and a rusty quarterback who just missed most of last season after popping a hammy.
Are you happy, Jerry? You got another headline from Deadseriousness. Now just sign Micah before you realize just how atrocious this defense really is.
Thanks for reading.
