Shedeur Sanders’ fall from grace was the story of the 2025 NFL Draft. After not being selected in the first round, Shedeur dropped all the way down to pick No. 144.
A truly embarrassing weekend for the young, humble superstar but it was even more embarrassing after being prank-called by some lame college kids pretending to be an NFL GM.
The apparent prank calllers who phoned Shedeur Sanders on Friday during the NFL Draft shared a video of their call on Twitter.
The callers pretended to be Mickey Loomis of the Saints saying the team would select the QB.

This lame prank call wasn’t made to Shedeur’s typical cell phone. Only NFL personnel had access to Sanders’s draft phone—instantly linking one of these swaggerless college dorks to an NFL employee who gave them Shedeur’s private info.
Thankfully, these prank masters were genius enough to post themselves, leading to one of them immediately being identified as 21-year-old Ole Miss student, Jax Ulbrich—son of Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich.
Here’s Jax’s weak ass iPhone notes apology:
Jax Ulbrich, Jeff Ulbrich’s son, released an apology for his role in the Shedeur Sanders prank call.
I’m told he also reached out to the Sanders family directly to apologize.
By all accounts, Jax is a good kid who made a mistake and he’s doing what he can to hold himself… pic.twitter.com/9rIwE5vdoU

The Atlanta Falcons shielded Jeff Ulbrich, claiming he unknowingly had Shedeur’s phone number on an iPad his son had access to.

A lot of comments and apologies over this prank call to a random 5th rounder but he’s famous so there must be consequences.
Today, the NFL announced a $250,000 fine to the Falcons and a $100,000 fine to Jeff Ulbrich for his son’s prank call.
What’s next for Jeff Ulbrich?
Ulbrich had a 10-year NFL career as the San Francisco 49ers linebacker before transitioning into coaching.
After 3 seasons of coaching the Jets defense to Top 10 finishes, New York named him the interim head coach following the release of Robert Saleh last year.
The Jets went 3-9, looked astronomically worse with Ulbrich as their head coach and after what I imagine was the quickest fake interview for the full-time Jet coaching job, Ulbrich returned to his role as a defensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons.
And he’s starting his tenure there costing the team a quarter million because his son stole a phone number from his iPad.
It’s safe to say, Jeff Ulbrich will never be an NFL head coach again but his son might accidentally make sure Ulbrich never coaches in the NFL again, period.
