Biggest storyline of the season
This is the season we learn if the Heat’s success in the bubble was a scam or not. We allowed Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro to become household names. Are we sure Bam Adebayo is…good? Or are the Heat always going to be talked about in high regard because of their Culture?
Key Players
Jimmy Butler: You should be concerned about the Heat building around a guard who shot 32% from 3 last season and is constantly battling lingering injuries but then you remember Jimmy is somehow only 32 years old and not 45.
Kyle Lowry: Love Kawhi but the worst thing he’s done in his career is win a title with Kyle Lowry and trick everyone into believing that Lowry is that important meaningful must-have point guard and not some annoying ant that just takes charges. But Heat Culture.
PJ Tucker: There is an endless life cycle for a player who is deemed a ‘stopper’. Kevin Durant can drop 45 points on PJ Tucker’s cranium and the NBA media would be like ‘wow, he stopped him from scoring 46!!’.
Duncan Robinson: Dropping from 45% shooting from 3 to 40% is a significant drop. Yes, 40% is still outstanding but 45% was just a guaranteed make. I don’t think Duncan Robinson does anything else particularly well so 40% ain’t good enough.
Bam Adebayo: This team lives and dies by how well Bam plays both offensively and defensively. If he’s aggressive on both ends and pushes the tempo and hits his midrange jumpers and stuffs Giannis in a locker then the Heat are just a totally different squad.

People are opinionated when it comes to Tyler Herro’s future and how he projects, so I asked him where he sees himself in the mix

How the Heat can win the title
There’s a secret weapon on this roster. If Victor Oladipo returns from his injury, Miami would be inserting a 20 point scorer in the middle of their starting 5. To come out of the East, you’re going to need to put up points and match Brooklyn’s scoring. Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Victor Oladipo can’t go head-to-head with those guys. And of course, PJ Tucker the Durant stopper will be out there doing whatever.
