Biggest storyline of the season
We can talk about the fit with the new cast of characters coming to the Windy City but this season is all about Zach LaVine. He’s become one of the best scorers in the NBA yet he’s playing on a one-year deal with no extension in sight.
Signing DeMar DeRozan was a move to hedge the team’s bets. He can play alongside LaVine and help them win enough games where hopefully LaVine stays or if LaVine decides to leave, now DeRozan can be the main scorer next year.
Key Players
Lonzo Ball: Lot of talk about Lonzo revamping his 3-point shot but his jump from shooting 45fucking% from the free throw line in his rookie season to 78% last year is remarkable.
Zach LaVine: Last season, LaVine shot 41% from 3 and 57% from inside the arc. This man has quietly become a top 5 scorer in the NBA and the Bulls finally built a team that might get to the playoffs where everyone can see how great LaVine has become.
Alex Caruso: The literal only defense Chicago has is a balding white guy who looks like a plumber.
DeMar DeRozan: Hilarious that DeRozan keeps saying that he wanted to play in Los Angeles just like he wanted to stay in Toronto. DeMar has absolutely zero control over his career.
Nikola Vucevic: On paper, Vucevic brings balance to the Bulls offense but he is getting zero looks inside when LaVine and DeRozan go back and forth calling isos.
How the Bulls can win the title
Chicago is going to need to score 200 points a game because they are going to let the opposing team score 199 every night. If the Bulls can break every scoring record in NBA history then they will take how the championship.
