Dave Gettleman Lost To The Washington Football Team

dave gettleman

Dave Gettleman is the worst GM in sports and I will dedicate this entire season to highlighting every single one of his terrible signings and draft selections. Thurday night’s L to the Washington Football Team put a microscope on Gettleman’s failure including the final play of the game that sealed the dub for WFT.

In 2019, the Giants had 3 first round draft picks. No. 6 Daniel Jones. No. 17 Dexter Lawrence. No. 30 DeAndre Baker.

Daniel Jones is the 4th losingest QB in NFL history. DeAndre Baker plays for the Kansas City Chiefs. And Dexter Lawrence just jumped offsides and cost the Giants a Week 2 win over Washington.

What makes this Dexter Lawrence play against Washington even more frustrating is that defensive end, Montez Sweat, was drafted 9 spots below him. Sweat has 64 tackles and 18 sacks in his career thus far. Lawrence has 54 tackles and 6.5 sacks.

Dexter Lawrence is just another guy in this league and Montez Sweat is that dude. Strong selection, David.

This offseason, Gettleman traded down after the Eagles moved up to pick Alabama wide receiver, Devonta Smith. Instead of understanding the value of draft picks and the value of each position on the field, Gettleman drafted a wide receiver anyway.

Here’s a quick look at what rookie wideout, Kadarius Toney, has accomplished thus far this season:

2 receptions.

-2 receiving yards.

0 touchdowns

So to recap Gettleman’s first-round draft history: Saquon Barkley has 83 rushing yards in 2 games. DeAndre Baker is off the team. Dexter Lawrence jumped offsides to lose a nationally televised game. Andrew Thomas gets ragdolled by every single pass rusher every single game. And Kadarius Toney has negative receiving yards.

Dave Gettleman should be signing up for unemployment benefits yesterday.
