Cut Everyone Except Azeez Ojulari

The New York Giants are the worst team in football. Despite their 25-3 victory over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday to get their second win of the season, they still remain talentless and undisciplined. Everyone on this roster stinks except the one shining rookie star: Azeez Ojulari.

Against the Panthers, Ojulari recorded 5 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 4 quarterback hits and forced a fumble. Azeez has 5.5 sacks all season which ranks first among all rookie pash rushers. The 2nd round pick out of Georgia is proving to be a steal for the Giants.

The entire defense came alive against Carolina. The team recorded 6 sacks, an interception and a safety when Sam Darnold just threw the ball at his own feet in the Panthers endzone.

God, Sam Darnold stinks at this. But in the past few seasons, the Giants defense has let mediocre quarterbacks look like superstars so Sam Darnold looking like Sam Darnold is an accomplishment for this pathetic team.

It’s almost as if having great football players on your roster is a good thing that results in wins. The Arizona Cardinals are undefeated this season after acquiring DeAndre Hopkins, AJ Green and JJ Watt. They even just traded for Zach Ertz. Weird how that works.

Meanwhile, the Giants have done nothing but trade away and cut anyone who’s been good at football. Whether it was Odell Beckham or Snacks Harrison or Kevin Zeitler, the Giants have been awful at constructing a good roster.

Until Azeez Ojulari fell into their lap.

You cannot win in this league without a strong pass rush. It’s how the Giants won in 2007 and 2011. They finally have one piece to build from. They just need to drop Dave Gettleman at the unemployment office before they waste this kid’s career.
