In 5 career NBA seasons, Caris Levert has missed almost 200 games already. Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving are all wearing Brooklyn Nets jerseys now thanks to the work Levert put into making that trash organization transform into a respectable location to play basketball.
Last season, LeVert stepped into the Indiana Pacers lockers room and averaged a light 20.2 points a night with 4.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists. Dope.
Unfortunately, Woj is telling us that Caris has a stress fracture in his back and although his recovery timetable would line up with the start of the season, we know Indiana will take precautions with their young injury-prone star and he won’t be playing opening night.
This stress fracture is coming on the heels of a KIDNEY REMOVAL after doctors found cancer in his kidney during his mandatory physical in the trade to Indiana.
Caris LeVert simply cannot catch a break. And I can’t even make a pun about him breaking his bones because it’s all random shit like concussions and hamstrings. He dislocated his foot once. I didn’t even know that was a thing a foot could do.
The Pacers were set to bring back Rick Carlise to coach this roster of random guys like Domantas Sabonis and TJ Warren and Caris Levert but Warren and now Levert are out with injuries and with the Eastern Conference getting stacked with talent, it miiiiight be time to look at Kentucky basketball recruiting classes.
I hope Caris LeVert can overcome the curse of the monkey paw that granted him his wish of becoming an NBA bucket-getter that resulted in all of his muscles falling off the bone whenever he takes a contested 18-footer.
