This week, the Philadelphia Phillies released Didi Gregorius in a move that will most likely open the door for 24-year-old rookie, Bryson Stott, to step up and become the new shortstop.
What’s next for Didi Gregorius?
- In 63 games this season, Didi has 1 homer, 19 RBIs with a .210 batting average. Noooooooot great
- It is impossible for me to believe the 32-year-old suddenly doesn’t understand how to play baseball or that his physical tools have diminished to a point where he is unplayable.
- What’s more likely is the Phillies have a weird clubhouse because Joe Girardi is unlikable and makes players uncomfortable. He was fired halfway through the season but his stench still lingers over the team.
- There is a team in New York with a right-field wall that basically rubs elbows with lefty hitters. The Yankees should bring Didi back to replace Isiah Kiner-Falefa who has hit fewer home runs than Didi’s 1 this season and with 113 more at-bats than Didi. Of course, there is more to baseball than home runs but not to me. This entire article is based on my own personal desire to see one of the most important Yankees players of the last decade back in pinstripes and winning a ring with this current super team. He doesn’t even need to get consistent at-bats. His presence in the dugout is worth whatever contract New York could give him.
- The Yankees should bring back Greg Bird and Masahiro Tanaka for honorary rings too. The only reason the 2017 Yankees didn’t win the World Series is because the Astros had more cameras watching opposing pitchers than the top 1% of OnlyFans girls have in their bedrooms.
- They should also drop Domingo German into the nearest volcano asap.
