The Sacramento Kings are the second-best team in the Western Conference. They are up 2-0 on the seventh-seeded Golden State Warriors as they’re supposed to be because they’re the better basketball team and have been all year long.
But the Warriors are running a full-court press with the media to let everyone know that the game isn’t fair and the refs are letting the Kings play too physically. Specifically, Domantas Sabonis is the center of the Warriors woes.
Here’s what Zach Lowe said on his podcast regarding Sabonis wreaking havoc on the poor Warriors:
“There is some anger within the organization toward the league. There’s a sense in the organization that Sabonis is shoving people on offensive rebounds and playing with his elbows out and using the ball as a weapon on offense.”
BREAKING: DOMANTAS SABONIS IS PLAYING WITH HIS ELBOWS AND USING THE BALL AS A WEAPON.
It is so frustrating to see someone like Zach Lowe allow himself to be a mouthpiece for a whiny organization that literally just won a championship last season and they’re acting as if the entire world is against them when in actuality, they’re simply getting their ass beat by a younger, hungrier basketball team that occasionally walks the line of what is and isn’t a foul.
Zach Lowe is one of the few basketball media personalities who has shown integrity and an actual desire to analyze the games and not get into the dumb reality TV drama that guys like Stephen A. Smith talk about because Lowe actually watches the games and Stephen A. Smith walks into a studio and gets handed boxscores from the night before.
But it’s super nasty for Lowe to casually present the Warriors crybabying bullshit about Sabonis turning the basketball into brass knuckles without questioning or dissecting why Golden State even gave him that info.
And it’s not just Zach Lowe who’s championing the Warriors baby tantrums. Here’s JJ Redick screaming on First Take about how life isn’t fair for Golden State:
JJ Redick passionately speaks out about the lopsided officiating in the Kings-Warriors series:
“The referees have dictated too much in the Kings favor in this series”@NBA @NBAOfficial @OfficialNBARefs

The Warriors have manipulated the entire NBA media apparatus to all jump on their platforms and call the police about Sabonis assaulting their players.
JJ Redick shouting “That’s a foul!” is the corniest thing I have ever watched. It is wild that people are so quick to become Blue Lives Matters bootlickers when some whistles don’t go their way. Golden State truly wants Sabonis to be imprisoned because he’s like, playing more aggressively than they prepared for.
The NBA didn’t tell their referees to favor the Kings. The Warriors are one of the most popular and beloved franchises in the NBA. It would make no fucking sense for them to tell their refs to help eliminate a team that would generate the league far more dollars. No one is rushing to their TVs at night to watch Kevin Huerter and his little headband. I’m still not entirely sure what Keegan Murray looks like.
There is no conspiracy but the Warriors found Zach Lowe and JJ Redick—two of the most respected NBA media members—to protest for them which gives their conspiracy some legs because of Lowe and Redick’s pre-established credibility. It’s all gross.
There are 4 things happening simultaneously that describe why Golden State feels like they’re being unfairly treated:
1.) Referees are notoriously known to favor home teams because they are humans who get wrapped up in the emotion of the arena and make calls based on the momentum of the games. This isn’t unique to Sacramento. Refs do this shit in every city.
2.) Mike Brown was the Golden State Warriors assistant coach for EIGHT YEARS. Including LAST SEASON. Mike Brown knows the Warriors and he knows how to throw them off their game. No doubt in my mind that he’s instructed Domantas Sabonis to intentionally antagonize Draymond Green and it’s working.
3.) The Golden State Warriors were 11-30 on the road this season. Of course they are down 2-0 after playing two games in Sacramento. Draymond Green punched Jordan Poole’s head off in training camp. Andrew Wiggins was gone for a month and no one knows why. This team has no real chemistry and they’re probably all walking on eggshells around each other so traveling on team planes and buses is an isolated experience and then they bring those terrible vibes onto the court. And they lose. Shrug.gif.
4.) THE KINGS ARE BETTER AT BASKETBALL.
Here is Joy Taylor on her TV (apparently she has a TV show with like, 6 other co-hosts or whatever) saying that Sabonis deserved to be stomped on by Draymond Green.
Joy Taylor yesterday on FS1: “Sabonis is wrong. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. … actions have consequences. That’s why you got stepped on. I have no sympathy for him.” pic.twitter.com/Pp4MBCoMRF

The Warriors are not victims of anything. Sabonis touched Draymond’s ankle to avoid being stepped on and people are acting like he committed this egregious line-crossing action but he didn’t even get a good grip on Draymond who easily wriggled his foot free so that he can hit him with Hollywood Hulk Hogan’s leg drop.
“Domantas Sabonis is using the ball as a weapon”. Ok. Can’t wait for the refs to call two quick fouls on Sabonis thanks to the week-long Warriors propaganda campaign. I want the Warriors to lose this series so badly now but I’m afraid their fans will storm the capital.
