AEW All Out 2024 Preview: Mercedes Hoops and Hangman Gets His Revenge

From Mercedes Mone getting her chance to prove she’s a legit hooper to Hangman Page lighting a human on fire lets talk AEW All Out 2024

AEW All Out 2024 is in a few hours and at first glance of the card, it may look like an event that goes chalk. Perhaps every winner here is obvious but AEW may have some surprises up their sleeve so let’s try to predict what’ll happen this year.

First, let’s just run through each match and predict the winners:

AEW All Out 2024 Match Predictions

International Championship: Will Ospreay (c) vs. Pac

Will Ospreay won’t lose this championship anytime soon. He’s certainly not losing it after like, a 2 week program with Neville. Will be a banger though.

Winner: Will Ospreay

AEW World Tag Team Championships: The Young Bucks (c) vs. Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta)

The Young Bucks first tag team title defense was at All In. And now they have another one at All Out. For a team that runs the company, eliminating them from the need to accept any challengers, they sure are feeling generous.

Shout out to the new Bastard Combat Club being in literally 50% of the All Out matches. Congrats on having perfect attendance but yea, this isn’t the night The Elite lose all their championships to the BCC.

Again, will be a banger though.

Winner: The Bucks

AEW Continental Championship Four-Way Match: Kazuchika Okada vs. Mark Briscoe vs. Orange Cassidy vs. Takeshita

As much as I would love to wake the neighborhood celebrating Takeshita winning a championship tonight, Okada and Takeshita have a longer story to tell. This isn’t the baton passing yet.

Will be a banger though.

Winner: Okada

Chicago Street Fight for CMLL World Women’s Championship: Willow Nightingale (c) vs. Kris Statlander

The street fight may be Willow Nightingale’s specialty but the fact that we know so much about Willow means she can hang back for a sec.

Let us fall in love with Kris Statlander. For real.

Sure, she beat Jade Cargill for the TBS Championship, like, 20 years ago, but this new version with Stokely Hathaway deserves a big victory to propel her to the next level.

Winner: Kris Statlander

MJF vs. Daniel Garcia

The babyface got brutally attacked, sending him off TV for weeks. It would be absurd for him to make his comeback and lose to the man that crippled him.

HOWEVER, it is equally absurd to think the decision-makers of this company want to see MJF piling up PPV losses. MJF can’t sneeze back there without a staffer manifesting next to him with a handkerchief and a Claritin.

Hey DG, you may want to see what’s good with that performance center, my guy.

Winner: MJF

TBS Championship: Mercedes Moné (c) vs. Hikaru Shida

With Kamille banned from ringside and Mercedes waking up every night from nightmares of her All Out match, Shida is being tasked with legitimizing Mercedes as the caliber of in-ring performer we fans have come to expect from champions here.

I mean, Shida is the main reason why we thought the Long Island Mid-ium was a good wrestler in the first place.

I don’t think Mercedes is anywhere near as talented as Athena or Willow or Statlander but I believe she is capable of a few bangers now and then—especially with Shida as a dance partner.

Winner: Mercedes Mone

AEW World Championship: Bryan Danielson (c) vs. Jack Perry

Last year, Bryan Danielson had CLASSICS with MJF and Ricky Starks.

He and Jungle Boy are about to create true art tonight. T

he Scapegoat may have a moment where he holds both titles in his hands, in Chicago, over a chorus of boos and CM Punk chants but once the AEW social media team gets that clip, Danielson is making him tap and we get to see Swerve and Hangman do murder.

Winner: Bryan Danielson

Unsanctioned Lights Out Steel Cage Match: Swerve Strickland vs. “Hangman” Adam Page

The real winner of this match is the health insurance company AEW performers are signed up with.

Last time these men had an unsanctioned match, well, this happened:

Hangman Page has lost his mind and burned Swerve’s childhood house to the ground. One of two things needs to happen for his character.

Either A.) He continues to go down this crazy path and is rewarded by beating Swerve, thus finalizing the heel turn and solidifying himself as the big bad going forward

or

B.) Hangman continues to lose until he snaps out of it and returns to who he really is.

I’m going with A.

Winner: Hangman Page

But now, let’s get weird. Let’s wildly speculate on what big surprises that could shake shit up around here.

AEW All Out 2024 Bold Predictions

1. Kris Statlander interrupts Mariah May’s championship celebration

Mariah May is 1000% showing up to tease her next opponent but I couldn’t figure out who’d be interrupting her.

I don’t think Jamie Hayter is done with Saraya and honestly, it’s too soon to give her a title loss unless she would beat May which seems like a short reign for Mariah.

Julia Hart and Tay Melo and Anna Jay and Sky Butt are just not main eventers to me and would be wasting Mariah May with randos, no offense to them. They seem cool.

Fuck Britt Baker.

But what if this celebration happens after the Willow/Statlander street fight? Why not immediately place the winner of that match at the front of the Women’s Championship line?

2. Mercedes’s Stable Grows

Kamille is banged from ringside. Cool.

But that doesn’t mean Mercedes can’t introduce new girls into the fold.

The CEO is 1000% beating Shida with some gimmicky nonsense and I think new women are joining her little team.

Personally, I think it should just be Mercedes and Kamille.

Make them Shawn Michaels and Kevin Nash. That aesthetic is so much cooler than a bunch of girls who get to be on TV because Mercedes said it was okay for them to stand near her.

But yea, we’re getting some hijinx here.

3.  Jon Moxley attacks Bryan Danielson

Moxley is clearly going to attack someone at this PPV and as I look up and down the card, nothing would be bigger than beating down his former partner, Bryan Danielson.

He and Marina can continue stomping out jobbers every week but it’s time to accelerate things. Stomp out Danielson and then open up Dynamite this Wednesday explaining yourself.

Anyway, head back over to Deadseriousness tomorrow so we can talk about what happened tonight. I pray I’m not writing a legit RIP to Swerve or Hangman after they accidentally lit the other on fire for real.
