I work from home so I spend most of my days locked into ESPN programming instead of actually working. I’ve been watching them slowly decline for years. Senior NFL reporter, Adam Schefter is one of the worst of the worst.
He doesn’t do real reporting.
Schefter is a vehicle, a mouthpiece for agents and owners, to get their messages out.
He is a propagandist whomst ESPN megaphones aloud for all to hear.
That’s why I give a ton of credit to former college basketball player turned sports analyst turned college basketball coach, Doug Gotlieb, for calling out the machine and its lies.
Sacramento State is in discussions to hire former Pro-Bowl QB Mike Vick as its new head coach, per sources. Sacramento State plans to move up to FBS, is building a new stadium and has over $50 million in NIL. Sacramento State would build an experienced coaching staff around Vick…

I saw this tweet and thought “Oh cool, good for Sac State and good for Mike Vick” but suddenly Doug Gotlieb came down with the truth hammer to put Adam Schefter in his place.
Jeezus Shefty, edit what agents tell you… 0.0% chance Sac State has $50m in NIL. https://t.co/8eoU0wwKPO

Yes, friggin Jeezus, amirite??
Adam just got caught lying to us.
Classic ESPN doing the agent’s bidding.
Gotlieb would continue on to explain that although Sacramento State may be raising $50 million to join the college football big leagues, that $50 million isn’t exclusively going into NIL the way Schefter implied but also goes into building up the stadium and facilities, as well as hiring a coaching staff.
BOOM, SCHEFTY.
Sounds like Sacramento State football, a team we all know and love, will only have like, $35-$41 million on NIL and not $50 million.
Try not to be such a sheep, Adam.
Schefter responded to Gotlieb one last time reaffirming his original reporting as well as dunking on Doug for the struggles of the Green Bay Phoenix who are currently 2-10 and look like they play basketball on 2X gravity.
And Jeezus, Doug. A seven-game losing steak and last place in the Horizon League? Less time on social media and more time in the gym. pic.twitter.com/r58Fpwfvb8

Adam Schefter telling Doug Gotlieb to get back to work is disgusting.
It’s everything wrong with ESPN.
Alllll these egomaniacs want to do is get credit for reporting information for us, as quickly as possible, or entertaining us 24/7—while we all take breaks from doing our jobs to complain about minor inconveniences we have with the way they do theirs—like what the exact Sac State NIL money is or when someone mispronounces a player’s name.
Aaron Rodgers was right, man.
All that network cares about is pushing personality-driven BS and here we go again with Schefter making himself the main character of the day, defending himself against the mediocre coach of a team on an active 7 game-losing streak.
Remember what ESPN used to stand for?
Now they have their no. 1 NFL reporter mocking teenagers to win arguments on Twitter.
These are children being ridiculed by a multi-millionaire who has nothing better to do than steal easy Twitter points against a man who clearly couldn’t fight back on X. Look at this team—no Xs or Os in sight.
