I love that the Toronto Raptors went out there and traded for Brandon Ingram.

Stars are moving to The 6—especially if Aspiration is cutting checks on the low.

Organizations like the Raptors have two options:

1.) They can do whatever it is the Brooklyn Nets are doing; intentionally losing, running out lineups full of young guys with no defined roles or understanding of what specific skills they ought to be developing because they never play meaningful basketball games, never testing their performance in high pressure situations, so you’re hoping you draft a once in a lifetime superstar to rise above the losers ruining the locker room toilets.

Or 2.) Acquire Brandon Ingram—a player averaging 20+ points a game the last 5 consecutive seasons (yes, I’m counting last season even though he only played 18 games. He averaged 22.2. He would’ve led the Raptors in scoring (RJ led last season with 21.1).

Here’s what Ingram did in his Canada debut:

  • 29 points
  • 10-for-20 from the field
  • three 3’s
  • 6 rebounds
  • 3 assists
  • 4 turnovers

Including a big 3 with 54 seconds left to bring the game within 4.

The Raptors have something interesting here, or the Bucks aren’t that good, or both—but last season, the Raptors averaged 110.9 points. This season, they scored 138 and now 116 against the Bucks.

Wasn’t enough to stop Giannis as the Milwaukee Bucks took the 122-116 dub in Toronto.

No Giannis stoppers

Shout out to Scottie Barnes. You got to flex on Giannis.

You pushed someone on the floor and yelled in their face. Dope. I’d do the same.

But no one on the Raptors had that energy on Giannis defensively.

Here’s what Giannis did to the Raptors:

  • 31 points
  • 11-for-14 from the field
  • 20 rebounds
  • 7 assists
  • 5 turnovers

If Giannis Antetokounmpo wants to have his little Last Dance legacy season in Milwaukee—treating defenders like summer campers, fans, podcasters—then Toronto can’t conceive of championships until they find the proper personnel to do something about it.

Jakob Poeltl ain’t it.

Knicks corner

Still love my baby boys, RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley—tonight, a combined 16 points in the 4th quarter.

RJ, bullying his way to the cup—IQ, teleporting, flashing from the perimeter to the paint, defender caught in a cloud of dust.

But man, after all this time, these two players still kill runs with no-effort defense, bad passes, missed free throws—shit losers do.

It’s game 2 of the season so they have 80 games to pick the locks on their potential but their chances of landing on an All-Star roster fade after every single 4th quarter missed free throw. Loser shit.
