Jayson Tatum’s Achilles Explodes

A Jayson Tatum achilles eruption just put a stake through the heart of the Boston Celtics as he will most likely never be the same again.

At the end of Game 4, with the Boston Celtics minutes away from going down 3-1 to the New York Knicks, Jaylen Brown committed a disgusting turnover, forcing Jayson Tatum to quickly change directions before crumbling to the floor with a non-contact ankle injury.

The Boston Celtics haven’t updated us yet on the details of the injury but based on the way the injury looked, along with Tatum’s reaction to it, including the Paul Pierce homage down, it appears as though Jayson Tatum’s achilles exploded.

And unfortunately, this injury came at the end of the best game Jayson Tatum had in these playoffs.

Here’s what Jayson Tatum did before his achilles turned to rubble:

  • 42 points
  • 16-for-28 from the field (57%)
  • 7-for-16 from 3 (43%)
  • 8 rebounds
  • 4 assists
  • 4 steals
  • 2 blocks
  • 1 leg

After a weird, inefficient first few games, Tatum finally stepped up and turned into the top player in the league we all believe him to be.

Annnnnnd now it’s over. And his next season is most likely over. And with one of the most expensive rosters in the NBA, a brand new ownership group and a star player at physical therapy, this will most likely be the end of this current version of the Boston Celtics.

Congratulations to the New York Knicks. After getting run out of the gym all season by the Celtics, they stepped into a playoff series against a juggernaut, punched them dead in their face and now are up 3-1, with complete control of their own destinies as the Celtics mourn their prodigal son.

Knicks in 5.
