2022 All-Pro defensive end, Haason Reddick, after wasting the New York Jets time, signs a 1-year, $14 million deal with the Tampa Bay Bucs.

What does Haason Reddick bring to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?

Haason Reddick is coming off the worst season of his career but I blame the Jets.

After a 2023 season where Reddick led the Philadelphia Eagles with 11 sacks, 23 QB hits and 13 tackles for a loss, Reddick demanded a new contract.

The Eagles did not want to give him a new contract.

So the New York Jets traded for him.

Knowing Haason wanted a new deal, Jets GM Joe Douglas acquired Reddick and then acted shocked when Haason still wanted to be paid.

Eventually, Reddick ended up returning to the Jets in the back half of the season, out of shape—playing like me if I was asked to play professional football at the highest level after spending the last year of my life vaping on my couch.

But I think Reddick will be motivated, playing in a winning situation—not on the sidelines watching Aaron Rodgers throw balls at his receiver’s cleats and jogging off the field on 4th down pissed like it was his receiver’s fault for not having longer arms.

Reddick is a 2-time Pro Bowler.

Hes a 2022 All-Pro defensive end, joining a Tampa Bay Bucs team that finished 2024 ranked 6th in total sacks.

And most of those sacks were recorded by interior DTs, Calijah Kancey and Vita Vea, so Reddick adds pressure on the outside, balancing out their pass rush.

And sure, he’s aging but every top pass rusher available in free agency is aging.

Young, talented players don’t become free agents.

Old, injury-prone guys like Von Miller and Joey Bosa do.

Haason Reddick is one of the best players available at his position and maybe he learned some tricks to beat the Eagles offensive line in those two seasons he played there.

Plus, I think we’ve established that every player gains a +100 skill boost once they leave the Jets. We may see Reddick’s greatest season yet.

What could go wrong?

Haason Reddick celebrates his 31st birthday this season—coming off an irrelevant 1-sack season.

He needn’t have bothered even driving to the stadium. He was invisible.

The man didn’t care about last season because he wanted $25 million.

He signed a $14 million deal in Tampa.

Significantly less than $25 million. I

t’s possible, he still isn’t motivated to play with effort.

Reddick is one annoying Baker Mayfield pregame speech away from pulling a Vontae Davis and retiring at halftime.
