2025 Chicago Bears Free Agency Guide

From a potential return of a HOF pass rusher to the reconstruction of this stinky O-Line, let’s talk 2025 chicago Bears free agency

We. Are. So. Back.

Sort of.

After drafting one of the greatest quarterback prospects of his era, signing a bunch of wide receivers he hasn’t met yet because he was jumped in an alley by pass rushers the moment the ball touched his hands—the Chicago Bears went 5-12 last season.

Their head coach didn’t seem good at his job.

Like I don’t even have anything clever to say about it.

I don’t think Matt Eberflus was a good employee.

As a notoriously bad employee, real recognize real. This man was stealing company time.

But general manager, Ryan Poles, yea the GM with a 15-36 record in his 3 seasons running the team—still has a parking space at the team facility.

This offseason could be responsible for the creation of a dynasty—or a complete rebuild from the studs, again.

No pressure.

Team Needs

The Bears immediately addressed the elephant in the room—the one sitting on Caleb Williams’s chest as soon as he took the snap from behind center.

Chicago acquired Jonah Jackson from the Rams and Joe Thuney from the Chiefs—two of the best offensive guards in the game.

Joe Thuney is a 4-time Super Bowl Champion with the Kansas City Chiefs, and made back-to-back All-Pro teams in 2024 and 2023.

Jonah Jackson is a Pro Bowler. Once. Via injury replacement.

But if every offensive lineman from the NFC were injured, unable to compete in the Pro Bowl, YOU would get a call to be an injury replacement before anyone on Bears offensive line last season.

So it’s a massive upgrade.

Oh, and Matt Eberflus is gone.

Replaced by Ben Johnson—one of the most respected offensive minds in the NFL right now. Teaming up with Caleb Williams—who now has some professional O-Linemen in front of him.

Turn up.

Let’s see if GM Ryan Poles can get this free agency right next.

Free Agent Targets

1. Khalil Mack – Edge: RETURN OF THE MACK

“Sources believe Mack has interest in a return to Chicago, where he played from 2018-’21. Mack isn’t interested in the spotlight, but the vision would be for him to be a complementary piece of the defense, not the star.” (Source)

2. Matt Pryor- OT: The Bears can’t afford to let decent O-Linemen walk.

It’s the NFL where, on any given play, a finger gets crushed or an ankle snaps or Tua Tagovailoa sees the Hat Man. They gotta keep Matt Pryor.

3. Drew Dalmon – C: Caleb Williams seems like the type of QB that needs a steady center snapping the ball right into his hands.

Some guys, like Josh Allen, don’t mind leaping up to snag a bad snap out of the sky and some guys, like Deshaun Watson, panic and wake up 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage with 3 linebackers stacked on them.

Drew Dalmon is a professional, adult center.

4. Keenan Allen- WR: I know the Keenan Allen-Rome Udonze-DJ Moore experience didn’t bear fruit but let’s maybe give it one more run with a competent coach and a quarterback with time to find them—just to see what it actually looks like.

Random Personal Wish List

1. Von Miller- Edge:

The Bills are releasing pass-rusher Von Miller, per me and @tompelissero.bsky.social

Miller is set to turn 36 years old before the 2025 season, and Buffalo makes the move now. Both sides, however, are open to a return.

The Chicago Bears could have Caleb Williams turn into a superstar on offense and their defense is led by two future Hall of Famers limping around, smashing white slower quarterbacks. This is how you market a new team.

2. Chris Godwin – WR: Qua.Dru.Ple.Down.

MORE talented wide receivers.

Add Chris Godwin, re-sign Keenan Allen, to play with Rome Udonze and DJ Moore.

You know how we were always like “Why don’t the Patriots or Chiefs give Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes better receivers?

Let’s not do that here.

Let’s do the opposite.

Let’s be like “Wait, what? The Bears just traded for Jaylen Waddle? But they just drafted Tetairoa McMillan...”. We need more NFL gluttony.

3. Cam Robinson – OT: Caleb Williams was sacked 68 times last season.

We have to save this young man’s life.

He’s going to turn into Junior Seau if we don’t put every competent offensive lineman in front of him.

#SaveCalebWilliams.

4. Jonathan Allen – DT: *Shrug* Why not?
