The Detroit Lions seem determined to never win another football game and this past Sunday was the perfect display of their mission statement as they allowed Tim Boyle to go out there and be their starting quarterback.

Here’s what Tim Boyle was able to put up against the Cleveland Browns:
- 15-for-23 (65%)
- 77 passing yards
- 0 touchdowns
- 2 interceptions
- 34.1 quarterback rating
Yes, 15 completions for 77 yards. That’s the fewest amount of yards with at least 15 completions in NFL history. Literally one of the worst games ever. You can say that he’s Jared Goff’s backup and the Lions had no choice but to play Boyle with Goff nursing an injury.
But Tim Boyle shouldn’t even be in the league…
In 3 seasons at UConn, Boyle threw 1 touchdown pass. 1 TD in 3 years. Oh, with 13 interceptions. But he had one more season to prove that he deserved to be in the NFL. He transferred to Eastern Kentucky to pat his resume against some easy competition.
He bumped up to 11 touchdown passes. Huge turnaround from his previous 1 touchdown in 3 years. Unfortunately, he also threw 13 interceptions. That’s sort of his magic number. Boyle put up some of the worst numbers in college football history yet has still managed to sneak his way onto NFL rosters for the last 4 years all leading up to his first career start.
Tim Boyle doing exactly what everyone expected Tim Boyle to do

How did Boyle even get to this point?
But there’s something beautiful about this scammer with no idea how to throw a football suddenly being thrown out there to lead the worst team in the NFL that is on pace to lose every single game this season. This is the start of a dark Netflix doc.
Praying Jared Goff needs another week to recover and the entire country gets to watch Tim Boyle sling the rock on Thanksgiving despite having no idea where the ball is going when it leaves his hands.
