Drake and I are similar in a couple ways. We both pretend Degrassi never happened and we both just want the world to be fair.
So I understand why Drake has filed a lawsuit against Kendrick Lamar’s record label for using bots to artificially boost the streams for “Not Like Us”.
According to a copy of the petition, obtained by CNN, the rapper claims that UMG “launched a campaign to manipulate and saturate the streaming services and airwaves” with Lamar’s song “in order to make that song go viral, including by using ‘bots’ and pay-to-play agreements.”
Drake also alleges UMG used these “bots,” which are essentially fake social media accounts, “to artificially inflate the spread of ‘Not Like Us’ and deceive consumers into believing the Song was more popular than it was in reality.”
The petition, filed by attorneys representing Drake’s Frozen Moments LLC, describes several tactics that Drake claims UMG used to falsely promote “Not Like Us” on music streamers and radio stations, including an illegal practice known as “payola,” in which a record company essentially pays for airplay.
Drake’s petition accuses UMG of paying an independent radio promoter acting as an intermediary, who then paid other radio stations to boost airplay of Lamar’s track. The petition also claims UMG paid Apple, or approved payments to the company, to purposefully use its voice-activated assistant Siri to misdirect users to “Not Like Us.”

Well, this isn’t fair.
Apparently, UMG went out of their way to help boost the success of a song with some pretty inflammatory allegations against Drake.
You could not leave the house without hearing Not Like Us and now we know why. Bots.
Drake is one of the most successful and beloved artists in history. October’s very own.
There was no way that many people were listening to a song full of lies and unproven allegations thrown at our boy Drizzy.
Plus, I won’t pretend as if DJ Mustard wasn’t instrumental in Miley Cyrus’s weird phase where she rode the Hip-Hop wave for attention. You’d think fans of Kendrick Lamar—the sacred protector of the culture—would have held Mustard accountable for allowing a vulture in but nope.
Keep shouting MUUUUUUUUUUSTARD as the Cyrus family purchases blood diamonds with the money they stole from our community.
This whole thing is a conspiracy to remove Drake from the top of the mountain.
A psyop orchestrated by the most powerful men in the music business to eliminate their biggest threat—this generation’s Michael Jackson. (Although I think he’s a far superior artist to MJ. We’re talking about the GOAT here.)
Much like Bill Cosby was moments away from purchasing CBS, I’m sure Drake had a masterful plan to revolutionize the music industry in favor of all artists, and the powers that be joined forces to strip him of his reputation.
I just watched Wicked. I know how propaganda works and they’re trying to turn Drake into the Wicked Witch of the 6.
Oh, and I’m never streaming Kendrick’s new album, GNX, out of protest for his willingness to be a pawn against his fellow comrade. Drake is our Pat Tilman, basically.
Just don’t be shocked if Drake’s private jet goes down or his home gets invaded soon. I hope he stays safe.
And honestly while we’re talking about filing lawsuits, Drake’s lawyers should be striking down any use of the term “BBL Drizzy”. Whether or not Drake had his body done, it’s none of our business. It’s actually a HIPAA violation if that private information was leaked. Physicians should lose their jobs for this.
