On the same day the Seahawks announce the release of 10-year Seahawks legendary receiver, Tyler Lockett, 2-time Pro Bowler and 2020 2nd-Team All-Pro, DK Metcalf has informed Seattle that his watch has ended and he’s ready to move on to greener pastures.

And you can’t blame Metcalf for leaving. Geno Smith arrived in 2022, winning Comeback Player of the Year an leading them to a first round exit in a 20-point loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Then they missed the playoffs the last two seasons because they’ve attached themselves to like, the 23rd best quarterback in the NFL when they should probably just focus on a complete rebuild.

So let’s talk DK Metcalf trade ideas. This list will be based on where I would like to see DK Metcalf play, not so much like which teams would benefit most or have the cap space or any of that nonsense. Pay for the Athletic if you need salary cap implications.

Anyway, here are 5 DK Metcalf trade ideas:

1. Baltimore Ravens

I cannot watch Lamar Jackson have an MVP-caliber season for the 4th consecutive year, get to the postseason and have all of his receivers and tight ends drop passes.

His receivers didn’t show up against the Kansas City Chiefs two years ago and this postseason, Mark Andrews looked like me in 8th-grade tryouts riiiight before they informed me I was about to have a lot of free time after school.

2. New York Giants

I’ve squeezed the New York Giants on every fake trade article before this one. You thought I’d stop now?

Nah b, let me get uhhhhmuthafuckinuhhhhhh DK Metcalf trade please.

I have no idea who the New York Giants Week 1 starting quarterback will be—but I do know an offense built around Malik Nabers, DK Metcalf, Wan’Dale Robinson, Tyrone Tracy Jr and whatever young talent they add in the draft will be able to score more than zero touchdowns in New Jersey.

3. Carolina Panthers

The 2024 Carolina Panthers finished 30th in passing yards last season.

In the modern NFL, you cannot consistently win football games if your team is still struggling to adapt to the installation of the forward pass.

I want/need the Raiders to build a super team. Go get Joey Bosa. Bring back Khalil Mack. Get Josh Sweat and Sam Darnold. Who cares about the salary cap, defer the money like the Dodgers tricking Japanese players or have Tom Brady slip them briefcases of cash under diner tables.

The NFL needs an infusion of something new and interesting. I cannot keep pretending to care about the Chiefs, Eagles and 49ers.
