Woody Harrelson is Joining the Star Wars Universe

Sources tell Variety that, while talks are still in the early stages, Harrelson is the top choice to play Han Solo’s mentor in the upcoming “Star Wars” spinoff starring Alden Ehrenreich.

Donald Glover and Emilia Clarke also star, with Phil Lord and Chris Miller directing. Disney had no comment.

The movie will be set prior to “Star Wars: A New Hope,” like the other “Star Wars” standalone project, “Rogue One,” which hit theaters on Dec. 16.

Is anyone having a better third act to their career than Woody Harrelson? Out of nowhere, Harrelson is just in franchise after franchise just Scrooge McDucking into a pile of cash. Just when you thought those Hunger Games checks weren’t enough, he’s got those Now You See Me checks and on top of that he’s now joining the War of the Planet of the Apes.

You know what he needs next? Those Star Wars checks. Cash Rules Everything Around Me.

Apparently, Woody will be playing Han Solo’s mentor in a movie that will take place before A New Hope. That is either the greatest sentence of all time or either the worst sentence ever. I cannot wait to see how this ends up.
