The final season of Game of Thrones is quickly approaching and I can’t help but think it’ll be the final time we see most of these actors, especially considering that pretty much only Peter Dinklage is American and a majority of these actors don’t frequent American Hollywood motion pictures and TV shows. They exist in a universe across a pond that only weirdos who watch BBC broadcasts are aware of.
So let’s talk about which actors will not only continue to appear in television shows and movies but which actors will have the most success. And there is a huge difference between appearing in movies and being successful. No actor better explains my point tha Emilia Clarke.
Daenerys Targaryen, Khaleesi herself, has
I think Emilia will continue to get opportunities to appear in this movie and I think those movies will continue to suck.
She should probably stop joining existing franchises and hold out until someone makes a film exclusively with her in mind. She may have sucked in Terminator and Star Wars but after watching all of
Speaking of joining exisiting franchises, 1. Stop making X-Men movies 2. and this is for Sophie Turner, stop appearing in X-Men movies. Did you see the trailer for Dark Phoenix? It looks like every generic boring gray X-Men movie they’ve been making since 2002. Let’s just go ahead and cross Sophie Turner off the list.
I’m also going to add ahead and cross Kit Harrington off this list. After all these years, his biggest role outside of Game of Thrones has been voicing a character in that Call of Duty game. Kit’s agent got that Game of Thrones bag and stopped answering the phone.
Cross off Jorah. I don’t even know the actor’s name. I’m rooting for him though. I hope he gets one final whiff of Dany’s hair before a white walker eats his face.
So which actor is going to have the best career?
Let me quickly say that Jason Momoa is the easy answer but he doesn’t count. Khal Drogo died from a little cut on his chest and didn’t even make it to the end of the first season. He was only in a few more episodes than Ed Sheeran. Doesn’t count.
I love Peter Dinklage. We all do. But unfortunately, I get the feeling that unless some new series is created specifically for him, he’s going to become the cameo lord like in Avengers: Infinity War when he plays a giant and everyone in the theatre is like ‘ahh, I see what you’re doing there’.
I’ll just put my hands up and shrug on this one: no idea where Maisie Williams’s career goes from here. I’m rooting for her. She’s only 21 and looks like she’s 17 so there’s a pretty decent window of teen drama and starring in YA novel adaptions.
But you know who I’m certain will have the best career? Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Lena Headey *waves Lannister family flag* TEAM LANNISTER, BABYYYY.
Everyone go watch Shot Caller right now. It had absolutely no box office success but my man acted his ass off. Seriously, drop everything and go watch that.
NCW is also starring in a movie (alongside The Red Woman) this year directed by Brian De Palma. Out of all the Game of Thrones actors, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is getting the best roles and movies to star in.
Hot take: Lena Headey is objectively the best actor on this show.
She’s also already appeared in some decent blockbusters like 300 and Dredd. I know Hollywood isn’t kind to women past the age of like, 35, but it wouldn’t shock me at all if a new hit HBO series came out in a few years and she was the star just racking up Emmys and Golden Globes left and right.
*burns down the Sept of Baelor*
sidenote: It’s been brought to my attention that I forgot Robb Stark. He’s probably the correct answer but I don’t know, Khal Drago rules. You have to make it to the final season. Of course, Richard Maddon is getting all of these good roles these past couple of years. He has so much more free time to film what with being murdered at his own wedding and all.
