“Well, I mean, it always varies, but it always starts with what serves the story the most and what serves the hero the most. We’ve been criticized, if a big criticism of ours is that we focus on the heroes more than the villains, I think that’s probably true. I don’t think it will always be true and I think some of you spoke to Chris and Steve at the Civil War junket. When the heck was that, yesterday? Last week? And they talked about, in appropriately oblique terms, Thanos. Thanos in Infinity War is, you know, in a movie that has a lot of characters, you could almost go so far as to say he is the main character, and that’s a bit of a departure from what we’ve done before, but that was appropriate for a movie called Infinity War.”
I have nooo idea what this movie is going to be but I could not be more excited to find out. From my understanding, every single Marvel character who has ever existed will be in this clusterfuck of a film but it’s huge news to find out that Thanos will be the main character of this movie.
Up to now, we’ve only seen Thanos at the end of every movie just sitting in a rock throne and grinning menacingly in a camera. In the comics, Thanos is in fact the main character and the entire story is about his desire for the Infinity Gauntlet so it’s good news that we can except more screen time from him instead of Hawkeye’s random ass family.
Thanos is supposed to be the baddest dude in the galaxy and he’s the least developed character in the MCU. I want/need a full background of how he got from point A to point B. I know more about pointless members of S.H.E.I.L.D. than I do the potential villain for the next two Avengers movies.
Dear Marvel, don’t mess this up, please.
