Terrell Owens has been out of the NFL long enough to attain eligibility for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but that didn’t stop the six-time Pro Bowler from revealing his astonishment about no longer being employed by an NFL team.
“Me not being on the field right now is a joke,” he said to Eric Dickerson on Fox Sports Radio (h/t Pro Football Talk’s Charean Williams). “I don’t care what people say. Even though I’m 43, trust me, I’m not your average 43-year-old.”
I was prepared to make fun of Terrell Owens for his hubris here. He is a 43-year old man and 43-years old, I mean 43-years elderly. He hasn’t played in the NFL since 2010 but that last season he ended the year with 73 catches, 983 yards and 9 touchdowns on the Cincinnati Bengals which is extremely productive.
I’ve convinced myself that TO is good enough to play for like, the New York Jets right now. Who is the Jets number one receiver? Exactly. It’s Robby Anderson. Ya know, Robby Anderson, that guy who isn’t as good as Terrell Owens is.
We all know that Owens is for sure still in shape. As I write this, he’s probably in his driveway doing situps for the neighbors. TO could transform Christian Hackenberg into a Pro Bowl quarterback. Hackenberg to Owens, coming soon…
Thanks for reading. Tweet to @TheLesterLee if you think TO could play in the NFL right now. Also, go ahead and throw Deadseriousness a Like on Facebook so that I can keep the lights on around here at HQ.
