Shout Out To This Brave Woman Who Was Kicked Out of a Local Book Store For Going Up To Steve Bannon and Calling Him a ‘Piece of Trash’

What Happened?

Nick Cooke, owner of Black Swan Books on West Main Street in the Fan District, said Bannon was in the bookstore Saturday afternoon and that a woman confronted him, calling him a “piece of trash.”

Cooke said he called 911 and that the woman left as he made the call.

“Steve Bannon was simply standing, looking at books, minding his own business. I asked her to leave, and she wouldn’t. And I said, ‘I’m going to call the police if you don’t,’ and I went to call the police and she left,” Cooke said. “And that’s the end of the story.”

The Richmond Police Department confirmed a call was made around 3:15 p.m. Saturday for a report of someone yelling at a political figure in the bookstore and that the call was canceled before any officers responded.

“We are a bookshop. Bookshops are all about ideas and tolerating different opinions and not about verbally assaulting somebody, which is what was happening,” Cooke said.

Here’s everything you need to know about this story: Steve Bannon, a piece of trash, walked into the local bookstore. A woman spotted him in the corner being a piece of trash and decided to go up to Bannon and let him know that he was a piece of trash.

Round of applause.

And with that round of applause comes a roaring boo for Nick Cooke, the bookshop owner who defended Bannon and called the cops against this woman. Here’s a new rule: You are allowed to openly harass any and all white supremacists.

“Bookshops are all about ideas and tolerating different opinions”.

This isn’t some 2nd grader getting bullied in the elementary school library. You run a cheap bookstore. Let’s not act like this is the 1800’s where the only buildings in town were the hospital and the sacred town library.

If you want to go up to a man and call him a piece of trash, you should be able to without being kicked out of the building. Especially if that man happens to be a piece of trash. In fact, it should be encouraged.

Also real quick, can we[1. when I see we I don’t mean ‘we’ as much as I mean ‘the whites’] stop calling the police anytime we get into a weird social interaction with someone or you know, when a black girl is selling water on the street.

Growing up, police officers were in shootouts and high-speed car chases trying to catch Hall of Fame running backs. Now they’re showing up to Oakland barbecues and local bookstores because everyone’s an uptight loser who is more concerned with protecting Steve Bannon’s right to look skim through Mein Kampf then allowing the police to actually do their jobs.

If Lethal Weapon was made today it would be Riggs and Murtaugh going from community pool to community pool answering noise complaints.

Harass Steve Bannon 24/7. It’s fine.
