Clint Frazier has been summoned. Honestly, what do I even say about this move? The New York Yankees currently have a 28-12 record which is the best record in the major league baseball. The team is 1st in runs scored and 2nd in home runs and now they’re adding what Brian Cashman once described as ‘legendary bat speed’.
Frazier is batting .362 with 3 homers and 4 RBIs for the AAA club and has earned his way to the main roster. He’d be the starting left fielder for about 28 out of a possible 30 teams, including the Yankees. Frazier most likely would’ve made the opening day roster if he didn’t suffer a concussion at the end of Spring Training.
The Yankees currently have 13 pitchers on their roster and they’re heading to play National League ball against the Washington Nationals so they’re going to need pinch hitters on the bench and I’ll take Frazier pinch hitting over anyone. 11 times out of 10.
What does this mean for the future of the Yankees outfield?
After slumping all season long, Brett Gardner is still in the Top 10 in runs scored this season while only batting .227. It’s safe to say that he’s secured his spot in the starting lineup for the time being. Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton are two Greek Gods stepped down from Mount Olympus to save us from ourselves.
Sooo, SEEE YAAAA Aaron Hicks.
My man is batting .215 this season and .130 against left-handed pitching. I’m not sure who told Aaron Hicks he was a switch hitter but he clearly has no idea what he’s doing from the right side of the plate.
Obviously, Hicks is the best defender on the team but fuck defense. The Yankees should move Gardner to centerfield, Frazier to left and just throw out the most dangerous offense in baseball history. Sure, they’ll give up an extra run or two defensively but they’ll make that back in a game where every batter in the lineup hits a solo home run.
Thanks for reading. Tweet to @TheLesterLee if you think Clint Frazier deserves a starting spot on this Yankees roster. Also, go ahead and throw Deadseriousness a Like on Facebook so that I can keep the lights on around here at HQ.
