Tennessee bride Kate Prichard allegedly pulled a gun out of her wedding dress and put it to her groom’s head during a drunken motel argument, just hours after the wedding.
The 25-year-old pointed the 9mm handgun at her new husband James Burton’s head and pulled the trigger, however it was not loaded, police say.
Police were called to the scene after the new bride then loaded the gun and fired it in the air, it is alleged.
“She pulled out of her wedding dress, a 9mm pistol. Pointed it at her husband’s head and pulled the trigger,” Sgt. Kyle Evans from the Murfreesboro Police Department told NewsChannel 5.
“[The] responding officer let the husband know the honeymoon was over and his new wife was going to jail.
Dating is hard. One day, you’re hanging out with someone. You’re going on dates here and there and then they pressure you into a ‘sooo, what are we?’ conversation. And to avoid being an asshole you end up in a relationship that you never really wanted.
Then all of a sudden you’re getting married. In the blink of an eye, your entire life is essentially gone and you’re walking down the altar next to someone you absolutely despise. How do you get out of this marriage?
Pull a gun out of your wedding dress. Problem solved.
Kate Pritchard had one trick left in her bag. This is a non-story. It’s not like anyone got hurt. Plus, who actually enjoys sitting through a wedding anyway? If anything, she freed up everyone’s day and saved her husband from marrying someone who hates him.
Dating is hard. Kate Pritchard is a hero.
