The NFL is looking for an artist that will top Lady Gaga’s 2017 Super Bowl halftime performance(and ratings) and they found everything they need in Jay-Z. Problem is, Hov says no.
The rap mogul turned down the coveted halftime spot for next year’s Super Bowl, which boasts past shows from the likes of Missy Elliot, Janet Jackson and his wife Beyoncé.
It’s 2018 and the NFL is finally trying to update their Super Bowl halftime show by getting a rapper to perform instead of 90-year old Bruce Springsteen yelling while we all sit extremely tense hoping that Bruce doesn’t pull a hammy.
It’s probably for the best that Jay-z turned this down because again, I don’t want to watch an old man doing old man things. It’s insane that people are picketing outside of NFL headquarters to get Colin Kaepernick back in the league but people don’t have that same energy to get Migos at the Super Bowl.
Now, it’ll probably be Adele singing slow ballads while I sit alone on my futon going through Snapchat stories of people out at parties actually enjoying themselves. That was sad. Life is sad. Good for Jay-Z or whatever.
Thanks for reading. Tweet to @TheLesterLee if you think Jay-Z would kill it as the halftime performer. Also, go ahead and throw Deadseriousness a Like on Facebook so that I can keep the lights on around here at HQ.
