Is Frank Ntilikina good? We may never know.
The New York Knicks will consider moving point guard Frank Ntilikina during the 2019 NBA draft if they can net a first-round pick in return, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post.
“The Knicks will be active on draft night,” a source told Berman.
Berman notes that Ntilikina would be made available in any potential trade package for New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis. (BR)
The New York Knicks are preparing to ship away yet another lottery pick that they failed to develop who will almost without a doubt flourish elsewhere as Frank Ntilikina appears to be gone with Kristaps Porzingis.
Ntilikina is averaging 5.9 points on 34% shooting. There is no rule that says your starting point guard needs to put up 20 points to prove his worth but in the 41 games he’s appeared in this season, he scored 0 points in 8 of them.
Checking the box scores after the games and seeing that the lottery pick that your team invested in is either getting DNP’s or scoring zero points is demorilizing as hell.
So is it time to pull the plug on Frank Ntilikina?
Personally, I think he can be a quality rotation guy off the bench but you have to take the ball out of his hands. I think his ceiling is Patrick Beverly but his floor is like, well we’re currently looking at his floor right now.
In a season where the Knicks are openly tanking and there are plenty of opportunities for young talent to shine, it’s pretty telling that when healthy, Frank can’t find any minutes.
It’s also not a great look for Frank when rookies like Mitchell Robinson and Allonzo Trier have started to figure out how the NBA works as they are proving to truly be foundational pieces while Frank is in his second season and looks like he only gets on the court because his dad is the coach.
Emmanuel Mudiay is bad at basketball. He’s better than Frank Ntilikina. I’m not saying that the Knicks should keep long term over Mudiay, I’m just saying that Frank hasn’t proven to be better than the guy who can’t stop dribbling the ball off his feet.
If the Knicks can put him in a package with those Dallas first round picks in exchange for a player that can actually make an impact on wins and losses, lets fucking uhhhhh do that. Thanks.
Thanks for reading. Tweet to @TheLesterLee if you think the Knicks should trade Frank Ntilikina. Also, go ahead and throw Deadseriousness a Follow on Instagram so that I can keep the lights on around here at HQ.
