Over the weekend, the New York Yankees went off offensively and swept the Toronto Blue Jays out of the Bronx all thanks to the bat of Greg Bird who had 2 home runs and 6 RBIs including a MASSIVE grand slam on Sunday afternoon.
To all of the Yankees fans who want to replace Greg Bird, eat a dick.
After suffering injuries year after year, this is the first season he’s fully healthy and he’s BACK. Don’t understand why everyone hit the eject button so early. He’s played 164 career games and has 31 home runs and 94 RBIs. Isn’t that exactly the type of season you want from your power hitting first baseman? People are dumb.
Here’s what Bird said about his explosion:
“I feel like I was doing a better job of using my legs today. That’s a good thing, I definitely felt it today. I’ll be honest. I thought I was in a good place just getting ready to hit. And we’ve got to build on that and keep going. The consistency just hasn’t been there like I’d like. If not you’ve got to find a way to get it done.”
I concur, Greg.
Greg Bird homered in back-to-back games for the first time in his career yet somehow looked like he had been doing it for the last decade with the confidence exuding from his swing. Bird also has two grand slams this season and there is no one I’d rather see step into the batter’s box with the bases loaded than my son, Greg.
I don’t see this home run streak stopping anytime soon. The only thing that can prevent him from taking home the MVP trophy this season is splitting first place votes with his teammates, Giancarlo Stanton and Miguel Andujar. Three-way co-MVPs?! Makes sense this year.
GREG BIRD IS THE PRINCE THAT WAS PROMISED AND HES FINALLY ARRIVED TO SAVE US WITH GRAND SLAMS AFTER GRAND SLAMS AFTER GRAND SLAMS. HE IS THE GREATEST FIRST BASEMAN TO EVER HOLD A BAT. HE IS BASEBALL.
