“I think sitting here right now, I think I can play another four years,” Manning, 36, told ESPN as he enters his 14th season.
The two-time Super Bowl champ has not missed a start since his rookie campaign, and says he’s continuing to feel healthy.
“That’s the way the body feels,” Manning said. “Again with football, you don’t know what’s going to be the difference, how you’re going to feel next year. And right now I still have the same enthusiasm and I’m working hard and I like doing the training and watching film and doing everything … I have to do to prepare for it.
“So I don’t see it slowing down. I think until the time comes or that changes, I’m going to keep going as hard as I can.”
THAT’S MY QUARTERBACK. Eli Manning is the biggest competitor in the NFL and he wants to play until he’s 40. Everyone’s blowing Tom Brady for being a 40-year-old quarterback but Eli is going to lap him in a few years and keep going.
With Eli playing a minimum of 4 more seasons that equates to about 4 more Super Bowl titles, if my calculations are correct. I guarantee Eli will go down as the best quarterback in NFL history. With the team that New York has built around him, he’s going to win infinite games.
New York had the number two ranked defense last season and they’re bringing every single player back to run it again. Evan Engram and Brandon Marshall are going to open the field for Odell Beckham Jr. They are good or whatever but they are decoys to get ODB open.
Don’t be shocked if Eli stays in New York for Odell’s entire career so that’s at least another decade in a Giants uniform. THAT’S MY QUARTERBACK.
Thanks for reading. Tweet to @TheLesterLee if you think Eli Manning can last til 40 years old. Also, go ahead and throw Deadseriousness a Like on Facebook so that I can keep lights on around here at HQ.
