In Game 2 of the semi-finals of the WNBA Playoffs, Elena Delle Donne hyperextended her knee driving to the basket in what looked like a career-altering ACL tear. It was brutal. In Game 1 she dropped 32 points and 13 rebounds and before he knee exploded in Game 2, she had 27 and 14 on Atlanta’s ass.
After missing Game 3, Delle Donne returned to ensure that the Atlanta Dream went home as she carried the Washinton Mystic to the WNBA Finals. As it was written.
19 PTS, 12 REB, 4 AST for @De11eDonne!

Elena is a 6’5 beast who can score from any part of the court. This season she shot 40.5% from the 3-point line on 4 attempts a game and when she’s not stepping back behind the arc, she’s grabbing a defensive rebound and taking it coast to coast like Giannis Antetokounmpo just charging from one end of the court to the other in what seems like 5 massive dribbles.
But she’s not just a finesse player.
If you drive on the Washington Mystic, good luck getting a shot up in the paint with Elena Delle Donne standing there waiting to swat your weak shit back into your face. She’s a double-double machine who is averaging 12 rebounds per game in the 2018 playoffs.
The only hole in her game right now is that she’s currently playing on one leg but that didn’t stop her from stomping out Atlanta in Games 4 and 5 to get to the Finals. Do you honestly think physical pain is going to stop Delle Donne?
Did Furiosa let having one arm prevent her from doing anything in Mad Max Fury Road? To carry the comparison even further, if you allowed Elena to carry a shotgun like Furiosa, she would not only jump on the opportunity but she would run out of bullets 3 minutes into the first quarter because she is a blood-thirsty beast out there.
I’m rooting for the Seattle Storm but I wouldn’t be shocked if Elena Delle Donne burns Seattle to the ground and limps away like Mel Gibson at the end of the original Mad Max movies. No matter what happens in those finals, all I know is that I’m going to go watch those Mad Max movies right now.
Thanks for reading. Tweet to @TheLesterLee if you think Elena Delle Donne is the best player in the WNBA. Also, go ahead and throw Deadseriousness a Like on Facebook so that I can keep the lights on around here at HQ.
