An oh-by-the-way from Aaron Boone:
Didi Gregorius tore cartilage in his wrist on the slide home yesterday. Boone said there is a chance he does not return this season.

Aaron Judge is the face of the New York Yankees but Didi Gregorius is the heart and soul of this team. Didi might be the biggest New York Yankees fan in the world and after sliding home on Saturday afternoon to help the team clinch a playoff spot, he now has torn cartilage in his wrist and might never get to play again this season.
My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
Didi Gregorius is hitting .268 with 27 home runs and 86 RBIs. Given the opportunity to finish the season, he could have easily gotten to 30 homers and 100 RBIs, a milestone that Derek Jeter could never even conceive of. Having his bat in the middle of the lineup is a nightmare for opposing pitchers.
First Aaron Judge misses a month with a wrist injury and now Didi. What is going on here? I will donate both of my wrists to any Yankees player that needs it. Sonny Gray has two wrists that he’s not using for anything good, the team doctors need to be performing that wrist transplant surgery asap.
If Didi is gone then whatever happens in the 2018 season is null and void and should be stricken from the record books. This season never happened if Didi can’t participate anymore. Anything that occurs needs infinite asterisks attached to it.
If the Yankees lose the Wild Card play-in game, it doesn’t count. If Major League Baseball had an integrity and if they cared about their sport at all, they would shut everything down right now and just get ready for Spring Training next March.
2018 didn’t happen.
