Here’s my SS #TopTenRightNow coming into the season
Probably have Crawford too high, out of respect.
Otherwise, I’m good with it.

Brian Kenny, you ignorant slut.
Didi Gregorius stats among shortstops:
18 Runs: 2nd
23 Hits: T-6th
15 Extra Base Hits: 1st
7 Home Runs: 1st
24 RBIs: 1st
15 Walks: 1st
.324 Batting Average: 4th
.429 On-Base Percentage: 1st
.746 Slugging Percentage: 1st
1.175: OPS: 1st
1.5 Wins Above Replacement: 1st
DO YOU GET THE PICTURE I AM PAINTING HERE?!
Didi is the best hitter in the most stacked lineup in Major League Baseball and it’s about time the world put some respect on his name. While everyone is paying attention to Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton, Gregorius is putting together an MVP season as he leads all of the Majors in RBIs.
Corey Seager of the Los Angeles Dodgers is batting .238 but he’s battling an injury so we’ll see how his season ends up. Andrelton Simmons of the Los Angeles Angels is known for his defensive prowess and he already has twice as many errors as Didi does so let’s go ahead and forget all of these Los Angeles shortstops entirely.
Carlos Correa and Francisco Lindor are very important players or whatever. If you’re listing off the best shortstops, those two names obviously make the Top 5. Easily. But Didi is on the top of the list for how important he is to the New York Yankees.
The only player who is maybe having a better season in the American League is Mookie Betts, who as you know, is not a shortstop. Didi’s early season hitting is putting him in the same statistical conversation as guys like Mike Trout and Bryce Harper. Decent company, I suppose.
It’s reaching a point where I can start confidently saying that Didi Gregorius is the best Yankees shortstop I’ve ever seen and it’s not hyperbole anymore. The Derek Jeter bobblehead that’s on the desk in front of me is fading away like Marty McFly in Back To The Future.
Didi Gregorius is the best shortstop on planet Earth and no one can tell me otherwise.
Thanks for reading. Tweet to @TheLesterLee if you’re ready for Didi Gregorius’s MVP acceptance speech. Also, go ahead and throw Deadseriousness a Like on Facebook so that I can keep the lights on around here at HQ.
