CARMELO ANTHONY’S 2K RATING ON POINT pic.twitter.com/6AUVHSbEDD
— NYSportsCast (@NYSportCast) July 25, 2018
Carmelo Anthony was once one of the best scorers in the NBA. In the 2018 playoffs, Melo shot 37.5% from the field and 21% from the 3-point line for the Oklahoma City Thunder that was willing to pay him $27 million straight cash just to get off their roster.
Now he is most likely signing with the Houston Rockets for the veterans minimum in a move that will most likely make the Houston Rockets worse. The biggest problem with Carmelo’s game is his inability to bring a locker room together. He was always a ‘punch in, get your 30 points, punch out and bang a stripper’ type player which alienates the players around him and his wife and stuff.
Last season, the Cleveland Cavaliers had to trade Dwyane Wade away because he and LeBron were too close and isolated themselves from the rest of the roster. Carmelo is going to come onto the Rockets and all of a sudden, Chris Paul will stop being a team guy and will exclusively spend all of his time with Harden and Carmelo looking down on the rest of that squad.
This locker room is going to be set on fire.
This 67 overall rating seems quite high considering that Melo can no longer shoot and we all know that this man plays zero defense. What is this rating based off? Is there a rating for unnecessary basketball accessories because obviously, Melo has a 100 for the headband, leggings and shooting sleeves.
You literally can’t play as the Rockets on 2K this year because there is going to be a 67 overall rating hole right in the middle of their starting lineup. Golden State Warriors in 3.
