Cardi B is the No. 1 rapper on planet Earth and Bodak Yellow is the No. 1 song. I’m not saying the Messiah has returned but I’m weeping.
According to Billboard, Cardi B has officially hit no. 1 on the Hot 100 chart with “Bodak Yellow.” She is the first solo female rapper to do so since Lauryn Hill topped the chart with “Doo Wop (That Thing)” over 18 years ago. She is only the sixth female rapper overall to top the chart; previous performers to hold that distinction include Lil Kim, Missy Elliott, Shawnna, and Iggy Azalea.

The United States of America is at a crossroads. We are a nation divided. Those of us who stand for the National Anthem and those of us who take a knee. Donald Trump has drawn a line in the sand by calling professional athletes who kneel ‘SOBs’. Well I have the solution to the problem.
Cardi B’s Bodak Yellow should be the National Anthem.
None of this madness would’ve happened if Bodak Yellow played at the beginning of every NFL game. Let’s face it, the National Anthem is trash. I’d be tight if the DJ played that garbage at the club. Shit doesn’t slap at all. The beat never even drops. Who even produced that wack ass track? That song needs 1000% more Metro Boomin.
If Bodak Yellow played, Kaepernick wouldn’t have taken a knee. A camera would’ve panned over to him Milly Rocking and he’d still be in the NFL today and we wouldn’t be pretending to ‘boycott’ the NFL over something completely pointless.
Bodak Yellow can unite this nation. Men, women and children of all races and backgrounds can stand arm in arm as ‘SAID LITTLE BITCH, YOU CAN’T FUCK WITH ME, IF YOU WANTED TO’ comes on across the stadium to fill our hearts with joy and compassion. I guarantee cops would never abuse their power if Cardi B was flowing through them.
Dear Cardi B, save us from ourselves.
Thanks for reading. Tweet to @TheLesterLee if you think it’s time to update the National Anthem. Also, go ahead and throw Deadseriousness a Like on Facebook so that I can keep the lights on around here at HQ.
