The Philadelphia 76ers are currently on a 4-game losing streak as they sit in the 5th seed of the Eastern Conference after entering the year as the favorites to win out. They have a 23-14 win-loss record and if the playoffs were to start today, they’d be playing on the road.
The Sixers rank 26th in 3-point attempts this season. Their spacing is ass. Everyone mocked the Knicks for signing too many power forwards this offseason while Philly runs out Joel Embiid, Al Horford and Ben Simmons, three centers.
They ley JJ Redick and Jimmy Butler walk and doubled-down on Tobias Harris for no reason and that has left them with no shooting, floor spacing and offensive versatility.
Here are 4 shooters the Philadelphia 76ers need to trade for immeeeeeziately:
1. Marcus Morris
Marcus Morris is the best shooter in the NBA. He’s second in 3-point shooting behind George Hill with almost 100 more 3-point attempts. Shooting 47% on the volume in which he takes these shots is nuts.
Now, I know I mentioned that Philly already has too many big men but give all of Mike Scott’s minutes to the better version of Mike Scott aka Marcus Morris. Plus, with the way everyone in the league wants to fight Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid, they’re going to need a Morris brother on the roster ready to throw hands at any moment.
Also, give the Knicks all of your first round drank picks, plz.
2. Davis Bertans
Obviously this would be wishful thinking for the Sixers. There’s no way the Washington Wizards would ever consider parting ways with this MVP candidate but it’s at least worth a phone call assuming Washington doesn’t hang up the second you say “Dave”.
Bertans is shooting 43% from the arch. Don’t let Davis get hot. He’s a far superior shooter than his teammate Bradley Beal who many fans consider to be one of the better shooters in the league.
3. Kevin Love
As I write this, Kevin Love is at Cavs practice kicking a basketball into the bleachers before spitting at the head coach and pissing in the sinks. Kevin Love wants to go home so badly and the Cavs won’t send him home.
Love is shooting 37% from 3 as he’s still putting up his great career shooting numbers on the last place irrelevant Cleveland Cavaliers. Kevin Love has had a strange NBA career. When you subtract all of the LeBron James seasons, Love has dominated box scores while having absolutely zero impact on wins and losses.
Please free Kevin and let him play the role that Al Horford was signed to do.
4. Goran Dragic
Goran Dragic has become the backup point guard in Miami after the emergence of Kendrick Nunn but Dragic is in no way a backup. The Sixers need a floor general to run their half court offense because Ben Simmons isn’t a point guard. He’s a power forward that’s good in transition and sucks otherwise.
Goran is 5th in the NBA with 15 points a game off the bench. He’s shooting 39% from the 3-point line and we’ve already seen how great he plays alongside Josh Richardson back in Miami. Free Goran.
