So after a few years of extremely boring and predictable NBA trade deadlines, this season we were hit with a BLOCKBUSTER as the New Orleans Pelicans acquired DeMarcus Cousins from the dusty Sacramento Kings.
When you have a monster trade like this, you’re bound to have plenty of winners and plenty of losers. This deal effects way more than just the cities of New Orleans and Sacramento so here are the 4 biggest winners and losers from the DeMarcus Cousins to New Orleans trade:
1. NBA Fans/Me
I LOVE blockbuster NBA trades. They’re so rare and so exciting. Nothing gets the adrenaline going like the Oklahoma City Thunder trading James Harden to the Houston Rockets. The trade deadline is the best week in sports. Just waking up in the middle of the night refreshing your phone waiting for updates.
Last week no one gave a shit about the Sacramento Kings or the New Orleans Pelicans but now the Pelicans have the next Tim Duncan/David Robinson combination and no one in the NBA is safe. Looks like I’ll be watching my first Pelicans game this weekend.
