2016 NFL Preview: AFC West

Next up on the 2016 NFL Preview is the AFC West, home of the defending Super Bowl Champions. This might be the most unbalanced this division has been in a long time. The Broncos look head and shoulders better than everyone else in the West but at the same time, they’re the only team without a starting quarterback. Mark Sanchez makes Alex Smith look like Johhny Unitas. But let’s get into it.

Oakland Raiders

This is a crucial season for the Oakland Raiders future. This year will determine whether or not Derek Carr can be a legitimate threat in the NFL. He’s either going to be a stat machine this year orrr the next Nick Foles. I’m sure we’ll find out by week 16.

Carr is lucky enough to be throwing to one of the best wide receiver duos in NFL history. Michael Crabtree and Amari Cooper and reminiscent of Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin. Or for older Deadseriousness readers, Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce. Holt and Bruce made Marc Bulger look like Kurt Warner. Carr might be up record numbers this season.

Oh, the Raider also happen to have the best offensive/defensive line combination in the game. No big deal but kind of a big deal.
