Captain America: Civil War was the best superhero movie I have ever seen. It was the perfect depiction of a comic book-esque story yet. Seeing Iron Man, Ant-Man, Vision and Spider-Man all on the big screen together was a childhood dream come true.
Who was missing from that amazing 20-minute airport fight scene? Thor flying in and shooting lightning at Captain America. That initial fight in The Avengers between Thor and Iron Man was probably one of the best scenes in any Marvel movie.
I’m glad to know that Thor was spending his time wisely during all of the Sokovia Accords nonsense. In all honesty, ever since Thor flew off camera in Age of Ultron, it seems as though Marvel doesn’t quite know where Thor fights into the big picture.
The fact that he’s essentially a god makes him very hard to squeeze into smaller scale events. Civil War was a pretty intimate story between The Winter Soldier and Tony Stark. There weren’t aliens or countries crashing into the Earth. Just two men fighting over Steve Rogers.
