Ji-Man Choi just homered in his debut with the #Yankees. Here’s how it sounded on both the TV and radio side.[YES-WFAN] pic.twitter.com/B3nBLiOXoA

Meet Ji-Man Choi. Earlier this week, Chris Carter was designated for assignment for the second time this season but this time, the Yankees called up Choi from AAA where he was batting .289 with 8 bombs and 43 RBIs. For comparison’s sake, Chris Carter was batting .201 with 8 homers and 23 RBIs. Hm.
Ji-Man Choi stepped up in his Yankees debut by going 1-for-4 with a 2-run 457 foot KA-BANG. In just one game, he has already proven to be more valuable than Chris Carter. His at-bats are actually hopeful instead of the dread that filled Yankee Stadium when Carter was in the on-deck circle.
If Choi can continue to provide the team with a bat at first base then they can take a sigh of relief heading towards the trade deadline as they really don’t need to acquire any position players. The biggest problem with this team is pitching. Whether they get a starter or a reliever, the Yankees just need a new arm in the clubhouse.
Save us, Ji-Man Choi.
